Sla Vakt - Charge of the Drabant (GNW)

The Draband were theorically King Karl's own bodyguards, mostly Swedish or German soldiers, serving as heavy riders. In facts they were very often used as an elite shock troop, tasked to break an ennemy line for the infantry, in many other brutal missions. More than the half of the troop died during Karl XII's campaign leading to Poltava, which shows their regular involving in the most deadly assaults. 
The represented cavalry standard is the "Livstandard", main flag of the horseguards. The Drabants are often represented in a buff colored uniform which, after many researches, appear to be not historical at all, being probably a 19th century reconstruction, and not the actual uniform of the lifeguards. They most likely wore the  represented blue uniform with light blue facings are yellow pipings. 

The facing infantry there are Russians, in post 1706-1720 uniforms. An officer at the center, a sergeant on the front-right, who carries a Swedish inspired musket: Russians lacked weapon standardization at the early stages of the war, and used either ancient matchlocks converted into flintlocks, either looted guns or Russian crafted stuff coming in all shapes and even calibers. The bayonet on it is an early pattern of plug cutlass-bayonet, typical of the early Peter's army (mostly pre-1706).
